Parent Workshop

This one-time introductory workshop teaches everything you need to know to get started with the Baby Signs® Program. You will learn:

* how to begin signing with your baby
* effective ways to begin teaching signs at home
* easy ways to use signs in daily routines
* what to expect as your baby transitions from signs to speech

I am pleased to offer Signing Time classes geared to 3-6 year olds! In this class, your preschooler or school-aged child will learn real American Sign Language signs, and acquire the building blocks for a second language. Based on the award-winning PBS show, Signing Time, your child will learn through pictures, and silly songs. This is a great introduction to signs your child can use on a daily basis. Bring your infants & toddlers for Story Time with BeeBo? the Baby Signs® Bear. Through children?s stories, BeeBo?, the Baby Signs® Bear, and lots of fun, we will show you how you can learn to communicate with your infant/toddler through simple signs and gestures.

A series of six theme-based classes generally offered over a 6-week period, with 45-minute sessions designed for parents and babies to attend together. A total of 37 useful signs are taught through fun songs, books, and activities. In addition, parents learn simple ways to support their baby's intellectual development-tips drawn from Drs. Acredolo and Goodwyn's second parenting book, Baby Minds: Brain Building Games Your Baby Will Love.

Each family will receive a take home play kit full of fun things to continue learning and playing at home!

This particular class will be held every Wednesday & Saturday for three weeks (total of six classes) March 7th - March 21st 2009

This 90-minute class provides parents with an overview of the Baby Signs® Program including the many benefits of signing, basic "How Tos" for teaching babies to sign, and many of the most useful signs through games, songs, and entertaining activities.

Each family will go home with a kit full of tools to continue learning and teaching at home!
