I work in the Portland area as a Personal Chef and Small Event Caterer. I maintain an organic garden of fresh fruits and vegetables, recycle, compost all waste and favor local products packaged in recyclable containers. I even have a small group of hens for farm fresh eggs! Diaper smackdown - which do you prefer and why - cloth or disposables?Submitted by marti on May 22, 2008 - 9:46am.EcoMoms: Here's one diaper dilemma that never seems to go away - cloth v. disposables. Each have found uncompromising advocates. Which have you chosen and why? Mothering Magazine is all about cloth diapers, as are most lefty-hippy-environmentalists. In fact, today's Portland moms seem to agree that cloth diapers are the "green" choice - even if they're not using them. I recently had a Mom friend apologize for using disposable diapers in a whisper - she felt so guilty about it! Teething remedies?Submitted by marti on March 16, 2008 - 8:55pm.My son is just starting to teeth. I've heard that catnip tea can be helpful for soothing - what other remedies have people tried? Recipe for a natural, anti-bacterial hand spray?Submitted by marti on March 5, 2008 - 5:50pm.EcoMoms- A question for you. Does anyone have a good recipe for an antibacterial hand spray without nasty chemicals? I'm thinking tea tree oil would work well for this purpose, but what else? Marti |
