What kind of group can you create
Create any type of group that serves your needs as a parent. Do you have a neighborhood playgroup, a membership club or a support group? MomHub will make it easier to coordinate event locations and registrations so you can focus on the more fun and meaningful parts of managing a group.
After you create a group
Invite members to your group. The invitation link is in the group's menu in the left column or in the upper right of the group's page.
You can also create an activity for the group so your group can meet.
Playgroup & group management tips
We will be adding a collection of playgroup tips and a bulletin board for group organizers. In the meantime, please share your favorite tips on how to make a group a meaningful and fun experience.
What to do with a group
This is entirely up to you. You can set up activities and meetings as often as you want. You can post to the blog for the group so the other members can see interesting resources or keep up to date on your experiences.
Creating and planning an activity
Choose a location for your activity. You can browse or search through Places to Go in MomHub. Once you find a place that you like, you can create an activity using the drop down menu in the left column. If you don't see the place you are looking for just Create a Place so the rest of the MomHub community can benefit from your local knowledge of places to meet. You can also learn about new Places to Go by subscribing to the MomHub Mix.
When creating an activity, you can enter a place name. This will automatically generate a map for your activity based on the place's location.
You can enter the Signup Settings including the confirmation message people will receive when they signup for your activity.
Promoting your group or activity
Each group or activity have a unique web address. You can post this link in an email, blog or bulletin board to help in recruiting new members to your group or activity.
You can also post a MomHub badge on your website or blog to link people directly to your activity or group.
If you have a group that is actively looking for new members, please tell us about it so we can consider it for an upcoming issue of the MomHub Mix.
Getting feedback on an activity
Encourage your attendees to write a review on an Activity or Place. This will help you learn how to improve things for future activities.
Managing your group
Use the group menu in the left column to perform most actions related to a group. You can post a blog entry, invite members or unsubscribe from a group.
